    About This Program

IMD campus & select locations in the Lausanne area Develop the mindset, skills and tools to lead innovation with impact Innovation starts with ideas, but the real challenge is turning those ideas into something that works. That takes more than inspiration. It takes leadership, experimentation, and the ability to drive change in complex environments. Innovation in Action is a hands-on program designed to help leaders build the skills to move from inspiration to impact. You won’t just explore innovation concepts, you’ll put them into action. You’ll apply design thinking and key innovation frameworks, harness the potential of AI, and gain the tools to drive real results in your organization. You will dive into a real-world innovation challenge, either your own or one we bring to the program, and tackle it as a team. You will prototype, test, iterate, and pitch your solution to a jury. Then you will step back and reflect on what it really takes to drive innovation from the inside. Just as importantly, you’ll strengthen your ability to engage people in your vision. Through storytelling and rhetorical skills, you’ll learn to communicate with clarity and conviction, mobilize those around you, and earn the support of key stakeholders in your organization. Along the way, you’ll gain fresh perspectives from IMD faculty and learn how innovation happens and creates value for business and society. By the end, you’ll walk away with a tailored plan to bring innovation to life in your own context.

Why International Institute for Management Development?

IMD runs one of the smallest, most selective executive education portfolios in the world — and that is precisely the point. Based on the shores of Lake Geneva, the school has built its entire identity around a single question: what does it actually take to develop a leader who performs under real pressure? The answer, refined over decades, is a model that combines unusually small cohorts, faculty who consult actively with global corporations, and a Swiss-precision focus on measurable behavioral change.
