About This Program

The purchasing function, starting as a transactional framework and progressing to a strategic and tactical positioning of procurement, has now evolved into an area of scientific knowledge covering multidisciplinary concepts, and responds to increasing demands for competitiveness and industry performance. Despite the already considerable development in this area, procurement and global sourcing is still in a stage of relative infancy, since it will undoubtedly evolve substantially in the coming years in response to, but also leveraged by, technological advances such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Cloud Computing, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), and other new elements in the value chain that will constitute the next and future industrial revolutions.

Why Nova School of Business & Economics?

Nova School of Business & Economics sits at the intersection of rigorous quantitative research and applied management practice, built on a Portuguese-language economy that punches well above its weight in international trade, finance, and consulting. Its Carcavelos campus, opened in 2022, was purpose-designed for collaborative executive learning in a way that few purpose-built business school facilities in Europe can match. For a senior professional who wants the intellectual credibility of a triple-crown school with direct access to Atlantic-facing markets, Nova SBE is a specific answer, not a generic one.
