    About This Program

Develop your leadership toolkit. Refine the skills and behaviours that empower you to lead your team with confidence. The Leading People Effectively programme allows you to explore your personal leadership style, helping you to better understand your team and identify the most effective ways to lead them. You will gain confidence in implementing new approaches to motivate team members and enhance employee engagement, whilst developing the resilience and ability to lead and succeed in complex and evolving environments. Whether you are early in your career, an experienced professional in your field, or moving to a leadership or managerial role, developing the skills to manage a team for the first time is critical to your future success. Delivered in a dynamic, and interactive way that’s both practical and engaging, the programme combines research, leadership models and actionable guidance from Cranfield’s experts. You will tackle everyday leadership challenges, gaining essential knowledge, tools, and skills to lead yourself and others effectively within your organisation. This programme provides a practical toolkit to build the skills and behaviors needed to lead with confidence, motivate others, and navigate the complexities of team dynamics. You will develop essential leadership skills to inspire your team, manage challenges, and lead with authenticity. Specifically, you will identify goals and develop a personal action plan, better understand yourself and others with a focus on performance, and understand team dynamics and individual work styles. You will learn skills to motivate and inspire your team, communicate with confidence and authenticity, and manage conflict effectively. The program also covers leading authentically, navigating organizational culture and politics, and developing coaching skills and experience, including techniques to successfully coach your team. Your organization will benefit from increased employee engagement and motivation, improved communication and collaboration, enhanced team effectiveness, improved teamwork practices, and managers who create a positive work environment. The program structure is divided into three days. Day 1 focuses on Leading Self, where you will explore your current leadership challenges, understand your own implicit ways of leading, identify key areas for personal growth, and develop self-awareness and awareness of others. This day also covers emotional intelligence and the impact of personality, and provides an introduction to coaching. Day 2 is dedicated to Leading Others, covering motivation and drivers for self and others, psychological safety and inclusion, and building trust and open communication. You will learn about influencing others and workplace behaviors, delegating and empowering others, and the leader as coach, with practical coaching skills development. Day 3, Leading in Your Organisation, addresses organizational culture and its impact on individuals, navigating the organization, and understanding and managing organizational politics. Topics include giving and receiving feedback, peer coaching for performance, and applying the program's learning to your own situation, concluding with program reflection and creating a plan for change.

    Why Cranfield School of Management?

Cranfield is one of the few business schools in the world that operates entirely at postgraduate level, with no undergraduates on campus β€” which means the faculty, the facilities, and the culture are built exclusively around people who already have careers, not people who are just beginning them. Its location on an active aerospace and technology campus in Bedfordshire gives it an intellectual atmosphere you simply won't find in a city-centre school, and its executive education programmes carry a reputation for rigorous, application-focused learning that has been earned over decades, not manufactured for a ranking.
