    About This Program

The role of chief human resources officer is more complex than ever before. CHROs face monumental change-navigating growing employee voice, increased public airing of internal dynamics, data and privacy issues, the challenges of distributed workforces and technological advances such as AI. Yet, many find themselves without a clear roadmap for success. There is an unprecedented opportunity for human resources leaders to acquire the skills needed to transform modern work. The Berkeley Transformative CHRO Leadership Program co-led by Laszlo Bock prepares HR executives to navigate these challenges and lead the next evolution of work at a global scale. This CHRO leadership program bridges academic theory with practical business needs, equipping you with the knowledge to leverage data, AI technology, and financial expertise to lead powerful, long-lasting organizational success and change. Developed in partnership with Berkeley Exec Ed, Laszlo Bock and esteemed Haas faculty members, Jenny Chatman and Sameer Srivastava, this premier leadership training is designed for current and aspiring chief human resource officers who aspire to redefine modern work. This CHRO course will focus on four areas with the goal of creating a generation of transformative CHROs: Grounding in science, analytics, and AI technology - CHROs need to be able to prove what's working to determine funding allocation, build credibility with peers and employees, understand emerging technology, and move from best practices to data-driven solutions. Elite consulting skills - CHROs must leverage a comprehensive consulting toolkit to command a seat at the top executive team's table, tackle large problems, support their teams in navigating solutions, and harness sociopolitical change management skills to guarantee changes are accepted and persistent. Future-proofed HR expertise - Transformative CHROs require specialized knowledge, including training in a handful of evergreen HR-specific topics and periodic, acutely critical topics. Mentorship from sitting CHROs and peer community - The CHRO community is unique in supporting exceptional openness across companies. Through hands-on learning experiences and a collaborative community of peers, you will experience transformative change to take on and reshape the future of work.
