    Executive Summary

A unique leadership development program that has been co-created by IIMB faculty and industry leaders. The program will help GCC leaders sharpen their strategic thinking, enhance leadership skills, and consistently deliver value to the GCC and the parent organization.

    About This Program

India has emerged as the global hub for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), with over 2,000 GCCs already established across the country. According to the Nasscom-Zinnov GCC Landscape Report 2026, India's GCC ecosystem is projected to grow from approximately 2,100 GCCs in FY2026 to nearly 2,400-2,500 GCCs by 2030. Employment in the sector is expected to increase from 2.36 million professionals to nearly 2.9-3.1 million, while the GCC market size is projected to expand from USD 98.4 billion to nearly USD 140-145 billion by 2030, driven by a projected CAGR of 9.9%. GCCs in India are increasingly evolving from traditional support centers into AI-led innovation and transformation hubs, driving enterprise-wide digital transformation, advanced analytics, cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and GenAI initiatives for global organizations. Riding on the twin foundations of low-cost talent and a mature supporting ecosystem, companies are increasingly turning to India to establish and grow their Global Capability Centers to provide significant value over and above mere cost-arbitrage. This may take the shape of enabling enterprise digital transformation, process re-engineering to become more responsive to customer needs, designing and building new offerings for their customers and even establishing centers for process and product innovation while nurturing and collaborating with India's rapidly growing startup and research ecosystem. GCCs today are now contributing to developing capabilities that impact the market competitiveness of their parent organizations. As was brought out in a recent GCC Leadership Roundtable conducted by IIMB, a key enabler for GCCs to continue to add value to the parent organization is the development of global leaders. Global Capability Centers are operating in complex globally dispersed matrix structures with evolving and, at times uncertain charters. Against the backdrop of these challenges is the need to find ways to manage a diverse group of stakeholders with varied expectations across different time zones. Aside from this is the need for them to hone their leadership and team management skills to attract, retain and lead teams across geographies and diverse cultures in a fiercely competitive talent market. This programme has been conceptualized and configured to help GCCs build their next level of leadership and to enable them to drive higher value for the parent organization.
