About This Program

Leadership is multi-faceted, emerging in diverse situations and often from unexpected individuals. While some seasoned leaders falter, others rise to the occasion, especially in extreme environments- those marked by uncertainty, risk, and high stakes. These contexts reveal the core of effective leadership: strategy, decision making, and adaptive styles. This Programme uses carefully curated cases from both business and nonbusiness settings to explore these critical lessons. This course is designed to: instil a deep appreciation of the onerous task of leadership - its complexity, challenges, and responsibilities; acquaint participants with the leader's critical role in sensemaking, formulating and executing strategy, building an organisation, and enhancing its performance; foster an appreciation of the need to prepare managers and their organisations for dynamic, uncertain environments and crises. The programme employs an immersive, discussion-based pedagogy that encourages critical reflection and active engagement. Leadership will be examined through distinct yet interrelated lenses, using cases, articles, and videos to bridge theory and real-world practice.

Why Indian Institute Of Management Bangalore?

IIM Bangalore occupies a position in Indian management education that no other institution quite replicates — a school shaped by a post-Independence nation-building mandate that has since grown into one of Asia's most respected research and leadership institutions. Its executive education programs draw participants from across India's most consequential industries, from Bengaluru's technology corridor to Mumbai's financial sector, and bring them into contact with faculty who are as likely to be publishing in top-tier academic journals as advising a government ministry.
